Basketball Tryouts for Current 5th-7th Graders

Tryouts are open to boys and girls from any school or community. In previous years, Fever has had middle school players from Cheyenne Wyoming to Greeley Colorado and various cities in between. Of our 2010 Fever players, almost 80% of middle school Fever players enjoyed playing on their respective school teams in Fall 2010.

Teams will play in tournaments over various weekends starting in May until July, but not every weekend. The tournaments are located in the Northern Colorado/Denver area. Fever is a good fit for top players ready to play with other top players in the area. Most Fever players have experience on city recreational teams and/or middle school teams.

PARENTS: Signed waivers are required

To participate in tryouts, each player MUST have a 2011 Fever Tryout Waiver! It's the second page of the registration form. Parents please plan to stay for information meeting and/or to watch the tryouts.

Paper Registration

On-line and phone registration is CLOSED.

However, walk-ins are welcome. Print off two pages - PAPER registration & waiver form and BRING with you to tryouts. If your player is carpooling, MAKE SURE the parent has signed the WAIVER page of the registration and you send check or cash for $15.

As of Friday, April 22nd, we have over 20 pre-registered for 5th grade boys and over 20 pre-registered for 5th grade girls.

What to do before Tryouts?

  • Be Ready for our Emails sign up here to be on our email contact list. Be sure to set your Email program to accept emails from RMYouthSports.com.
  • Work on your basketball game! Whether or not you are on a team now, continue to practice your fundamental basketball skills OUTSIDE of organized team practices. During team practices little time can be spent focusing on individual fundamental basketball skills - so personal time in the gym is necessary! To stand out at tryouts, you need to be doing MORE basketball preparation than others!
  • Learn more from the many resources on the left menu - FAQ, What to Look For (from any competitive sport team), and Testimonials.
  • Talk to Fever parents and players. Check our previous teams (links on left) and see who played from your school and talk to them!
  • Tell your friends! We appreciate your help in spreading the word.
  • Come back to the website. We continue to update the website with information throughout the year. Also visit www.RMYouthSports.com to learn about other basketball activities, camps and clinics offered in Northern Colorado.
