Phil Johnson, Advisor

  • From 2005-2008, he was the assistant women's basketball coach at University of Colorado in Colorado Springs.
  • Since 2004, Phil has developed programs, ran camps and coached for Great Starts Sports Camps.
  • From 2000-2002, Phil was the girls head coach at Doherty where they were 2nd in State as well as nationally ranked both years (a 46-4 record).)
  • In 2000-01, he was the 5A Coach of the Year.
  • Phil's overall basketball coaching record over 25 years is 271-54.
  • Involved in teaching and coaching basketball in Colorado since the 1970s.
  • Coached or played a role in the training of over 40 student athletes who received college scholarships, 20 of those student athletes went to Division 1 Colleges.
  • A passion for basketball and believes in providing more opportunities for kids to play basketball, especially at younger ages.

Shannon Lopez, Program Director

Rob Stumbaugh, Advisor

  • 2005 to present, First Community Bank Regional President for Colorado (20 branches in Colorado)

Juanise Cornell

Juanise Cornell

Juanise is a 3-year starter for the CSU women’s basketball team and will be a senior in the 09-10 season. Her hobbies include learning random facts, listening to music, eating and hanging out with friends. Her twin brother Jonathan is a middle linebacker for Ole Miss and they are the youngest of 6 children.

Why are you excited to be about of RMYS? I am excited to meet young female athletes that have a desire to work hard and improve their basketball skills. I am looking forward to helping girls that are considering the recruiting process or ones that are going through it.

Attended Bishop Amat High School of Azusa, California who was ranked 7th in the country during Juanise's junior year and accomplished a 35-0 record. Division 4 CIF champions in 2003-04, 2004-05 and 2005-06. State Champions in 2004-05, 2005-06.

Todd Earl

Todd will graduate from CSU in May with a degree in Political Science and minor in Sociology. After graduating he plans on continuing to coach and some day be a Division I head coach. Todd is from Longmont, Co where he graduated from Longmont High School.

Steve Gutting

Steve Gutting is a teacher at Cache La Poudre. He is an assistant coach for boys at Rocky Mountain High School. Steve is a certified referree as well. For many years, Steve has coached and managed the Junior Lobos boys basketball program.

Geoff Pampush

Geoff grew up in Rocky River, Ohio a small suburb outside of Cleveland. He attended University of Colorado at Boulder receiving degrees in History and Education in 2007. Geoff has been playing basketball from kindergarden through high school on teams (club and school) and as a hobby/activity since. Along with basketball Geoff was involved with football and baseball through high school - playing whichever sport was in session.
